AGCO Corporation Joins Fortune 500 List

DULUTH, Ga., Mar 31, 2004 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- AGCO Corporation (NYSE:AG), a worldwide designer, manufacturer and distributor of agricultural equipment, with revenue of $3.5 billion in 2003, has been recognized as one of the nation's 500 largest publicly traded companies. The Fortune 500 list, which includes AGCO Corporation, will be published in Fortune Magazine's April 5 edition.

"Being named to the Fortune 500 list is simply another sign that AGCO employees are continuing to build a strong and secure company that will be here for the long term to support our tractor, combine, application and farm equipment customers," says Robert J. Ratliff, chairman of the board, and a company founder. "It is those customers and their dealers who are responsible for the steady growth we have enjoyed, and that has resulted in this recognition."

AGCO Corporation is composed of more than 23 internationally recognized equipment brands that serve nearly every aspect of agriculture from diesel engines to satellite guidance systems. While its collective ag heritage is numbered in decades, its reputation is built on cutting edge innovation in equipment design and technology adoption.

"While this recognition of our past growth is appreciated, it is our future that we are excited about," says Ratliff. "We believe food production remains the most important industry in the world, and we are committed to helping our customers find new levels of efficiency and productivity."
