Robert J. Ratliff

Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer

Robert Ratliff is Executive Chairman of the Board, President and Chief Executive Officers of AGCO Corporation. He is a member of both the Succession Planning Committee and the Executive Committee of the Company’s Board of Directors. Mr. Ratliff was a co-founder of AGCO Corporation in 1990 wherein he led a management buyout.

With more than 46 years experience in the truck, tire and farm equipment industries, Mr. Ratliff joined Deutz-Allis, formerly the farm equipment division of Allis-Chalmers Company, in 1988 as President and Chief Executive Officer. At that time, Deutz-Allis was owned by Klockner-Humboldt-Deutz (KHD) AG of West Germany. He led management negotiations to purchase the farm equipment company from KHD. The management buyout was finalized in June 1990 under the banner of AGCO Corporation. Under Mr. Ratliff’s direction, the Company has experienced substantial internal growth through seventeen successful acquisitions.

Prior to forming AGCO, Mr. Ratliff served as President of the Uniroyal Tire Company, Worldwide, located in Troy, Michigan. In this position, he controlled all functions of the Worldwide Tire Operations.

Mr. Ratliff spent 26 years with the International Harvester Company, previously located in Chicago, Illinois. In his most recent position with that organization, he was President of IH Export Company. Previous positions with International Harvester include Senior Vice President, International Harvester Worldwide Truck Group.

Mr. Ratliff is a Director of the National Association of Manufacturers and a Director of the Equipment Manufacturers Institute. He is a member of the Board of Councilors of the Carter Center, the global think tank and human rights forum. He is a graduate of the University of Maryland and the M.I.T. Sloan School Senior Executive Program.
